Hundreds of thousands of drivers are responsible for delivering our goods safely, securely, and in a timely manner, as well as keeping our highways safe. We are proud to be able to celebrate this year<span class=\"s1\">\u2019<\/span>s <a href=\"https:\/\/ntdaw.trucking.org\/\"><span class=\"s2\">National Truck Driver Appreciation Week<\/span><\/a> from September 15-21 with all of the amazing truck drivers who make our day-to-day lives easier every day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>How Truck Drivers Impact Our Economy and Daily Life<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Truck drivers play a crucial role in both the economy and our daily lives. They ensure the transportation of essential goods, support various industries, and provide significant employment opportunities. There were approximately <a href=\"https:\/\/truckinghr.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Media-Release-EN-LMI-Snapshot-Q1-2024.pdf\"><span class=\"s2\">763,800 trucking and logistics workers<\/span><\/a> in the first quarter of 2024 in Canada. They help generate sustainable money for the economy. For example, in 2022 alone, the trucking industry made the economy almost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/topics\/5047\/trucking-industry-in-canada\/%2523topicOverview\"><span class=\"s2\">39.55 billion Canadian dollars<\/span><\/a> from almost 63.7 million shipments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">These drivers keep the economy and many businesses afloat by making sure that all goods are transported quickly and safely to their intended destination. Without these truck drivers, we would be much more limited in the goods we could receive and how efficiently we could receive them, whether that is deliveries to the places we shop and eat at, shipments for our places of work, or deliveries directly to our homes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>Challenges Truck Drivers Face<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The work that truck drivers do for us does not come without challenges. Truck drivers face <span class=\"s2\">several challenges<\/span> that impact their work and the broader trucking industry. Some of the top challenges that truck drivers face include navigating harsh weather conditions, having to come up with creative parking solutions, working efficiently through driver shortages, operating under strict regulations, finding the best routes to avoid traffic and meet delivery expectations, fatigue from driving long hours, and safety concerns. Even with all of the challenges, these drivers still make our day-to-day deliveries and allow for many other<span class=\"s1\">\u2019<\/span>s lives to be much more comfortable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>Our Commitment to Supporting Truck Drivers<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">At Northern Touch, we have the privilege of meeting with many of these truck drivers every day at our truck wash locations. We understand all of the work and trouble they go through to make sure daily life can continue to be as convenient as it is today. This is why we are dedicated to supporting our truck drivers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">To continue showing support for truck drivers, this National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, we will be celebrating by giving away free gifts to visitors at our Northern Touch Truck Wash locations. In addition to experiencing our premium wash services, guests will receive free air conditioners and coffee. This is our way of celebrating and saying thank you to all of those hardworking individuals and letting them know that we recognize the dedication, long hours, and challenges that come with the job. We&#8217;re proud to offer a small token of our appreciation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>How to Show Your Appreciation for Truck Drivers<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Join us in celebrating this <span class=\"s3\">National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. <\/span>There are many ways to <span class=\"s2\">show appreciation to your truck drivers<\/span>. It can be as simple as saying <span class=\"s1\">\u201c<\/span>thank you\u201d and being respectful to them on the road. You could also go the extra mile and support truck driver charities, recognize them on your social media accounts, or create and send care packages with useful items for when they&#8217;re on the road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">National Truck Driver Appreciation Week runs from September 15- 21.
